A  semi-abstract portrait of three young men searching for their truth within gender, friendship, sex and flesh, through examination of past and present.
The Uprooting lets trauma and pleasure flow through the paths they demand, exploring the poetry, humour and sorrow within each topic that the film takes on.
With dialogue at minimum, language is put second to symbols and emotional undertones, which drive the film’s progression through meticulously composed audiovisuals.
While dealing with uncompromising questions about their past and their present, The Uprooting doesn’t rest on the autobiography of the three men, but forms an independent structure from the fragments of their stories and their emotions.
